First Mid-Term Newsletter

Thanks be to God for the successful completion of the first half of the term. We are excite to bring you midterm updates to help you as Parents to stay informed and better still plan ahead.

Mid-Term Break

The school will observe two days mid-term break on Friday 1st November and Monday 4th November, 2019. It will re-open on Tuesday 5th November, 2019.

Learning Material

The secondary school teachers have noted with discouragement the reluctance of parents to provide their wards with recommended text books. This is a hindrance to effective teaching and learning. Provide your child with the recommended text books to enable him/her participate effectively in the class and also complete the assignment at the stipulated time.


E-learning is part of Chrysolite learning culture. We encourage parents to make computer available to your child at home for e-learning. The secondary students are having compulsory routine computer based continuous assessment tests (CBT).  The system will help your child get acquainted with the e-learning.

Online Assignment

The secondary school students’ mid-term assignment will be assessed on line through Chrysolite E-learning Portal: .The students are required to submit completed assignment on line, on or before Tuesday November 5th 2019. It is pertinent to know that, the scores earned from the online assignment forms part of the end of term assessment.

Nursery/Primary Midterm Project

The midterm project topics have been assigned to the nursery and primary scholars. Encourage your child to complete and submit the assignment on Tuesday 5th November 2019. The midterm project is part of the end of term assessment.

Fruit Days

Fruit day

You are reminded to give your child his/her choice fruit to school every Tuesdays and Thursdays. Scholars are prohibited from bringing packet juice to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays; endeavor to give your child his/her choice/best fruits. This is aimed at inculcating the habit of taking natural fruits instead of synthetic drinks.

Abacus mental Math Competition

Chrysolite Scholars made a giant stride on Saturday 19th October at The Shenmo Abacus Mental Math Competition as our scholars won all the GRAND PRIZES. The Shemno Crew from China and representatives from other African countries also visited Chrysolite International School on Tuesday 22nd October 2019. They were conducted round the classrooms and our scholars performed the abacus mental math to the amazement of our guests. The Shenmo crew were quite impressed and they commended our scholars for their brilliance.

Drama King Contest

The Chrysolite Secondary students made a successful outing in the Outstanding Drama King Contest organized by Livingstone Mega Entertainment Limited on Tuesday October 22, 2019, they scaled through the eviction stage and qualified for the final. Interestingly the students made an awesome, fantastic and amazing performance that earned them the 3rd position in the final on Saturday October 26, 2019. One of our students Timileh Raphael won the most outstanding performance for his part. He was presented with books and also given an opportunity to act in a soap opera coming up soon

The JSS3 and SS3 students have also commenced extra moral classes for the preparation of the examinations.

Royal Mathematics Challenge:

Some of the primary and secondary students enrolled in the Royal Mathematics Competition scheduled to hold on Saturday November 16, 2019. Our diligent teachers are putting in extra time to prepare the students for the competition.

Tulip/Turkish Mathematics Competition

The primary four and five students also registered in the Tulip/Turkish Mathematics Competition coming up in the month of December 2019.

Handicraft (Foot wear & Foot Mat)

The students will have a training program on how to make ’foot wear and foot mat’ in the second half of the term. The cost of the training is N2000 only. Encourage your child to participate.

Visit To The Charity Home

The school scheduled a visit to the Motherless Babies Home Borokiri on Tuesday 11th December 2019. We request, you support this trip by making donations of either cash or food stuff such as:

  • Rice,
  • Beans,
  • Cartons of Noodles,
  • Tubers Of Yam,
  • Plantain,
  • Rolls of Tissue Papers,
  • Garri,
  • Diapers,
  • Fish,
  • Crayfish,
  • Beverages Etc.

Let us join hands together and put smiles on the faces of these children.  

Give Out The Old

Old play toys, rockers, push chairs, clothes, shoes, school bags, that are still in usable conditions will be a blessing to that child in the Motherless Babies Home.        

Thanksgiving/Christmas Party

The End of Year Thanksgiving/Christmas Party holds on Friday, 13th December 2019 tentatively.

  •                     Time: 10:00am                   

Parents Teachers Meeting

There will be Parents/Teachers meeting this term. Please let us support the executive by responding to payment of condolence levy and meeting invitations. The meeting date will be made known to you later. Note that absence and lateness attract fines.


We apologise for the anomaly experienced in the bus services in the first half of the term.  We are putting up strategies to ensure effective operation of the transport section. Please bear with us.
